2006 Medieval Festival Scheduled
The annual Royal Burgh of Lanark Medieval Festival for 2006 has been scheduled for Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of August. As usual, this spectacular series of events is scheduled for the weekend immediately preceding the anniversary of the death of Sir William Wallace on August 23rd.
This year's festival, scheduled over two days in Lanark's scenic Castlebank Park, will feature: Large scale battle re-enactments, archery competitions, combat displays, authentic and non-authentic trading encampments, period musicians and jesters, birds of prey displays, living history displays and arena events.
The 2005 Festival attracted over 10,000 visitors to Lanark from 20 different countries around the globe. The 2006 Festival will be twice the size of last years and has been extended to include the whole weeked. For more detailed information, please visit Lanark Medieval Festival.

Annual Wallace Commemoration Parade 2006
Those taking part in this annual parade - on Saturday 19th August at 10.30am - including many of the authentically dressed battle re-enactors taking part in the Festival, will muster at Old St. Kentigern's at 10.30am and parade via Ladyacre Road, Bannatyne Street and High Street to the site of Wallace's House and Memorial in Lanark's Castlegate. Here a short commemoration service, including the 'Guardian's Address' will take place.
